We continued into the next school year by holding a meeting to discuss our next course of actions and goals.

I have come to learn that goal planning is very vital to anything you want to achieve. It applies to absolutely everything that you do; whether that is for sport, music, or in academia. It is somewhere I feel I have to continue to keep growing in and a skill that takes endless practice.

That being said, I made it a point to have a sit down with my advisors at the beginning and end of the year, as well as before PHASE 1 and PHASE 2 began.

Dear Mr. Poolman,

It’s great to be back and I appreciate you taking out time to talk to me today. Today we talked about the plan for the future and the steps we should take to incorporate Barefoot College with the High School and continue its relationship with the Middle School.
Here is what we specifically identified as the steps we should take and some more:
  • Incorporate Barefoot College into Anual Haverford School trip to Welham Boys School in India. Talk to Trip Company Director.
  • Introduce Mr. Maley to Barefoot College
  • Brainstorm on how to incorporate Solar Program with Mr. Maley
  • Work on personal project to get wifi to Night School Campus. Brainstorm
  • Make a Skype Call happen in 8th, 9th and other grades. Work with Mrs. Brown. Mr. Maley?
  • Incorporate Barefoot into 8th Grade Curriculum like last year. Successfully send videos and skype call.
  • Big Goal – Get Bunker-ji to speak at the Haverford School. Speaker Series? Talk to Dr. Nagl. Talk to Lara.
This is only the beginning. I want to be able to lay the groundwork for the years to come by completing these tasks. For example, getting Wifi in the Night School would be huge for Skype Calls and more types of communication for the future.
I will continue to brainstorm more ideas of how to incorporate Barefoot into our school in the coming months. I would also like to continue the Clothing Drive fund-raiser that we started in the middle school last year. If you have any ideas yourself please feel free to let me know.
I am excited for the future of the Barefoot College at the Haverford School and I am truly honored to have you all involved in my endeavor.
Again thank you for taking the time to talk to me today and I hope you enjoy a fine evening.

Sincerely,
– –
